southern italy definitely makes an impression in you. then you come back home to the US and you find yourself sipping espresso in the kitchen, and you close your eyes for a moment and try to remember the time you were buying oranges from the guy on the 3-wheeler, or eating a plate of fichi or fichi d'india on the street, or simply talking to your aging grandmother, or childhood friends. God Bless Italy.

After some searching I've found my grandfather Michele Abbruzzese and his friend
Luigi La"c"orraca (Not Sure of the "C") both 19 yrs of age listed as farmers on a the ship registry here in NYC. They left Forenza in June of 1902 for New York from Naples. Is Abbruzzese still a prominant name there in Forenza? Is there a way to find out exactly where he lived?

my father come from this village
every year i travel to forenza, but now its 3 years ago as i was the last time there. This year im going to travel in march its only 3 weeks. im very happy about to the my grandmother and the rest of my familie

Thanks for your comment, I am english but I'm married to an Italian, who's family live in forenza, and he also has family in Venosa, which, is a beautiful place, I agree! I love shopping their, lovely shops, fantastic market, and great festivals.

Compliments stives for this video...I was surprised when I found a video about Forenza. My father was born there and so, I know it. I was born in Venosa, a town near Forenza, have you ever been there? It's beautiful...
