I just got one of these.Pearl white 2009 AWD w/nav system. No one ever mentions the built in bluetooth in the nav unit that works through the car stereo, I actually talk through the radio with people from my cellphone how freaking cool is that? This car is MILES better than the thin painted plastic toy I traded in for it(2006 scion xa), funny thing about it is the heavy, solid, Volkswagen-like driving demeanor, plus, Suzukis are cheap to insure, actually costs less to insure than the previous car.

There are a few around here, don't know how well they sold though. The Aerio was called a Liana over here in Australia. I thought they looked a bit strange, but hey some feel that way about the SX4. Unfortunately, our Lianas were a 1.8L FWD, in the US they got a 2.4L with AWD, I would have considered a second hand one of those had they been made here.

Was it this model the one that was replaced by the Suzuki Aerio? Because those were awesome as well, did those ever sell that well?

It's nice to drive, I'm very happy with it. I originally wasn't super keen on the rear of the car, but it's grown on me. The front is great.

Those SX4's are a pretty neat car, I haven't driven one but they just looks awesome.

I get (converted) 30mpg on mine if i'm being nice, or if i'm sliding it through corners and being aggressive for a whole tank it drops to 25 mpg. I have the manual. Saying cars shouldn't have AWD is pretty naive. Sure it's not needed around town, but in Australia we have many long winding dirt roads with poor conditions, water ruts etc. Due to the low population density we can't have perfectly maintained roads everywhere. So having AWD provides safety and traction that is very desirable to me.

Driver can chose between 2WD, AWD Auto, and AWD Lock. 2WD is better mileage, Auto's great for mixed weather days, and AWD Lock for off roading or a snow filled driveway (lock is for 37 mph's or less). Its a great handling car that's extremely fun to drive, and it does well in all types of weather conditions. I average 29 mpg's with mixed highway/city driving. Only downside to this car in my opinion is its 11 gallon gas tank. |
